We're back!

Okay.. we've actually been back for two weeks now.. but I needed to enjoy some time with my cute hubby and Addie, and survive blessing day before I could manage to spill about our trip.

IT WAS F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!

For those of you who don't know, Ezra and I spent a week in Massachusetts visiting our pretty much family out there. We left on 08/25 early in the morning. Ezra was confused about not going back to his bed so he was awake all the way through security and until we got onto the plane. As soon as we got into the air- he pooped. (TMI?) A ton. And let me tell you, there is not a changing station on airplanes. Nope.. they suggest you do it on your lap in your seat if they are wet, or on your lap in the tiny bathroom if they stink. IT WAS AWFUL! But we survived.. and we made it to Cincinati without any further interruptions. Ezra was a happy baby.. he just loved to look around and he loved the plane. The next flight to Boston was a little less eventful- we had our own row and Z slept the whole time. It was great!

Thea (my second mom, great friend, lifesaver, etc.) and her boys Kristofer and Alex picked us up in Boston and we went downtown to dinner. On the way there, we saw a street performer. It was pretty cool. After dinner we headed for "home" in Dracut. The boys were fascinated by Ezra. We had a play-by-play of every move he made for the entire 40-ish minute drive. It was lovely!

Kristofer is so tall and SO SO handsome! I can't believe he is almost 12 years old! (I started babysitting him when I was about the same age.) He is only a few inches shy of passing me up. He is very smart and hilarious! He is so handsome and such a big help. Ezra adored him!

Alex- oh my is this one a handful or what! But he is just so stinkin' cute! He is almost 9 now, and almost as tall as Kris. He is also so very handsome, and he has a great sense of humor as well but in a different way. He is so sweet. On our 2nd or 3rd day there, I was changing Ezra's poopy diaper (something both boys had to be there for almost every time) and he leaned over and said, "Amber, you really are a great mother." TOTALLY made my day! He was probably just thinking I was amazing because man did that diaper stink, but it was totally heartfelt and I felt special. (I wonder if he knows that I changed TONS of his messy diapers as well not that long ago.) HE is a sweetheart and I just adore him!

While we were there, I was also able to see Yia Yia and Papou (Thea's parents- another set of grandparents for me) and Elaine and Rex (Thea's sister and her husband- an aunt and uncle for me). It was so great to get to see them all again.. It has been about 4 years since I last saw them (maybe a little longer for Elaine & Rex).

We went to the beach, but had to leave early because it got stormy. But it was beautiful too! Thea was so wonderful (as always) to take care of me and help out so much with Ezra. We had such a wonderful time with our family! I'm so thankful to have Thea in my life - she is FABULOUS! THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP: Ezra meeting some of the most wonderful people in the world, getting to love them and for all of these people who have meant so much to me for a long time to get to meet my sweet son. The love was all around! :) While I had a wonderful time, I am so glad to be home to my amazing hubby. He is wonderful and I don't know what I would do without him. :)

I was able to get a slideshow up.. check it out below!

  2. Looks like you had a great trip! The pictures are so cute! That's funny that you saw me at the pageant, you should have said hi. haha. It definately is a huge tradition. I didn't grow up in Brigham, well...kinda. My family is from there and when my parents got divorced my dad moved there. He still lives there and I have friends from being there on the weekends. I've always been a Peach Days goer, I love it! How is being a mommy? Ezra is so cute!!
