The Second Biggest Loser

Okay.. for those of you who don't know, I have been participating in a "Biggest Loser" competition with some women from work for over a month now. Each person who chose to participate paid $25 and the money has sat in an envelope for the entire time. We chose to do this for 6 weeks and at the end of the six weeks, the two women with the highest percentage body weight lost would win the money.

There were 10 of us competing and that meant $150 for first place and $100 for second (unless they were within .01% of each other). Well.. yesterday was the final weigh in and I thought I would share the results.

Now.. I didn't come in first but I did come in second!! I lost a total of 8.10% from my starting weight!! I have NEVER been comfortable sharing my weight.. but I am so stinking excited I just have to. I started at 144.5 and I now weight 132.8 lbs! I lost a total of 11.7 lbs in 6 weeks! (I could have done better, I know, but I really like my chocolate!)

I'm sure there are at least a couple of you who wonder "How did she do it?" And let me tell you, I could not have done it alone. Jarom was WAY more into this competition than I was. Once I hit 137 lbs I was so excited that I had lost 20lbs since March, (I got a lot heavier then, I know) I didn't care if I got smaller, just if I stayed the same. But the last two weeks he has been kicking my butt to make sure I eat less and MUCH healthier, exercise more and even attempt to sleep more too. He has been very good to put up with me through this. He had to be the one to stand up to me and tell me I couldn't have chocolate or other goodies, which didn't make it easy to not want to kick his butt. But.. it all ended well and I am very happy! I'm going to attempt to keep going, maybe just to get more fit, I like what I weigh. But as long as I can stay about what I weigh, I will be super happy!

Now I'm going to eat a bowl of brownies on the moon ice cream as my reward.. um yummy! :)

  1. Good for you! I was going to say something, but . . . well, I didn't know if I'd come across as . . well, you know. And good for Jarom for bossing you around! I know how it feels to want to kick the husband's butt when he says something like, "Are you sure you want to be eating that?" or, "You're not even hungry, just put it down!" It makes it worse that we ask them to do that in the first place . . .
