Baby Jenks #2

BABY # 2 UPDATE

We've actually had 3 visits so far.. and from my appointment at the urgent care tonight, it seems we will have another one soon. But with all of the craziness of moving, my sweet Grandma passing away, and adjusting to life here, I haven't had a moment to share.
But I'm ready and so excited to share these all with you!

 FIRST APPOINTMENT
January 7th, 2011
9 weeks 3 days
I was given an estimated due date of August 9th.
[exactly 3 weeks after my due date with Ezra- we seem to just make summer babies]

I know they are a little hard to see.. but that is a baby. A very, very squirmy one too.
Dr. H had a hard time getting the heartbeat for very long because this little one just kept swimming away.

SECOND APPOINTMENT
February 4th, 2011
13 weeks 3 days

This is me at 18 weeks
On the date of this picture I weighed 16.5 lbs less than I did pre-pregnancy.
 [For record keeping purposes only]

THIRD APPOINTMENT
March 10th, 2011
18 weeks and 2 days.
Dr. H called this the "Scary Skeleton Face picture.
If you tilt your head to the right you can see the eyes, nose, mouth, a leg, some fingers and an arm pretty clearly.

We were able to find out what we were having.
Can you tell?
Thats right!
Baby boy # 2 is on his way!

As I mentioned before Addie wanted to be the FIRST to know, so we asked Dr. H before he started, to please whisper to her first so that she could announce it to us. Unfortunately as he was just starting, baby boy turned and gave us a nice shot of his parts. Dr. H said "oops" and quickly moved away. He looked at me like "What do I do?" so I asked him to still tell Addie so she would be the 'first' to know. He was so sweet, and whispered in her ear and the look on her face was priceless. "We're having a BOY! I'm getting another brother!" Exactly what she said. She was shocked. But as we left she was telling us how lucky She is to get another baby brother to love. Oh, and she made sure to tell Ezra over and over again "Ezra! Baby Brothers are SO FUN! You are going to love him" and "We are going to have a baby brother Ezra. Can you say BOY??" It was lovely.

Ezra doesn't seem to understand 'brother' but he does know there is a baby in my tummy and he will kiss it multiple times a day, or throw legos at it while squealing "BabY!!" It is cute.

We are pretty sure on a name.. I think. Jarom is at least. I am not quite 100% sure. I have decided we will take a couple and decide on our favorite one together to make sure that still is our favorite. We will keep a back up of course in case the little one doesn't come out fitting his name. But I am going to hold off on releasing the name because I want to be sure of it myself before I tell the world.

Anyway, just like the last time I still have morning sickness (19 weeks and counting). Hopefully it will go away soon. I'm sure it will go away soon. It has to, right?!
He moves and squirms a lot, especially since I jolted him by taking a slide down the stairs. It is so exciting to feel him move.

Things are much better this pregnancy, even if they haven't been super easy.
I am sick with strep and had some fishy results come back from one of the tests they did at the urgent care and was advised to go see my OB in 4 or 5 days to be retested to make sure I am normal. He didn't give me a lot more info than that, just that it could be bad while pregnant if it didn't go away quick. So I guess I'll be calling Dr. H tomorrow to find out what he wants me to do.

For now though, I will go join my giggling husband [that's right, he giggles in his sleep] in bed and get some rest.. and hopefully get feeling better fast.

Night!

  2. Little boys are so much fun (as you already know!) I'm so happy for you. I can't believe how tiny you are at your half way point. I hope you get feeling better. Congrats! :)

  3. I love that Ezra gets a little brother - I think it's more fun for them to see "one of their own" when they're little.
